Young Pea Chef of the Year

is open for entries!

Win £500 worth of cookery equipment for your school from competition sponsors Waitrose or ProCook!

Are your pupils brimming with recipe inspiration? Is your son or daughter a whiz with a whisk?

The Young Pea Chef of the Year competition 2017 is back for a second year and we are delighted to announce that we have introduced a second category after joining forces with British supermarket Waitrose and new sponsor for 2017, leading cookware supplier ProCook!.

Primary school children of any age up to Year Six are being invited to enter the ‘Little Pea Chef’ category sponsored by Waitrose, and due to high demand, secondary school students across Year Seven and Eight can enter our NEW second category, sponsored by ProCook.

The number of peas grown in the UK each year is equivalent to about 70,000 football pitches and did you know, those little green guys have super powers? They’re packed full of nutrients, including Vitamin A and C, which is essential for healthy gums and immune systems.

Let your creativity go wild! Whether it’s a simple starter, hearty main or a whacky dessert, just make sure that the Great British Pea is the star of the dish! We received some great recipe creations last year and we can’t wait to see what is in store this time around!

All we ask is that you send us your pea-inspired recipes before Monday 3rd April 2017.

The winners from both categories, as well as eight runners up, will be featured in a Yes Peas! recipe book which will be distributed nationally, just like our 2016 competition finalists here!

Good luck – let the greatest Young Pea Chef win!
